Crab Alley 1700 Skiff - wider then 1600, shorter then 1800.

Length: 16', 10" Beam: 62" Draft: 8" Weight: 550 lbs Gross displacement: 5,600 lbs Approved capacity:5 persons or 1020 lbs - persons, motor & gear, 20 hp outboard. The CA 1700 is built like the CA1800 for a short shaft motor of 15 to 20 HP. The CA1700 is 4'' wider then the CA1600. With the Honda 15 Electric Tilt/Electric Start and the same trailer under the CA1800 you have nice package for 16,330.

The Crab Alley Skiffs meets the requirements in the

Boating Standards Manual COMDTINST M16761.2B U S Coast Guard, and

Coast Guard Recreational Boating Safety Program

 

The 920 lbs load is based on the displacement of 4600 lbs for the 1600. The Standards call for safe loading limit of 1/5 of the hull displacement.

The CA1600 Skiff as tested to meet the Coast Guard Standards, passing in 2004.
