Is it OK to use bondo on fiberglass?
Fiberglass Bondo is waterproof, extremely strong and can be used for virtually any fiberglass panel. As an initial matter, it must be recognized that there is Bondo for metal and Bondo for fiberglass. Ensure that the Bondo for fiberglass is used.
Can you use body filler on gelcoat?
any body filler will do. I use 3m hi build filler, it is half the price of Rage and in my oppinion is better than rage. It spreads easier and sands easier.

I rarely use long strand filler because it can’t be spread as smoothly but when a large area needs the strength the long strand is usually the material needed.

I primarily use fiberglass to cover up weld areas the fiberglass putty will resist water and keep everything sealed up so you dont’ get rust in those joints then I sand that down, and apply the bondo over that, real thin, just to fill in the holes and give it a smooth look.

Removing small dents is easiest done with two people one on th inside and one on the out side. The person on the out side will be holding a heavey piece of flat metal and the one on the inside will use a rubber malot to beat out the dents, do not use a metal hammer on the hull.
