Can faded gelcoat be restored?
When the gelcoat on your boat has faded, it can make your boat look dull, tired and lacklustre and can certainly make you lose your enthusiasm for its appearance. However, restoring your gelcoat is one of the easiest boat tasks that you can undertake and is easy to do yourself.

While you can use automotive products like Ultimate Compound on oxidized gel coat, they usually aren’t quite strong enough to really do the job. If you really need to get through the oxidation we’d suggest using either our M44 Oxidation Remover or M67 One Step Compound.
Can you use Meguiars Ultimate Compound on headlights?
Rather than break my back with all that scrubbing and sanding, I have found that a thin ribbon of the Ultimate Compound either hand applied, or buffed at a low speed, can clear away pretty much any rather harsh oxidation and yellowing from the clear plastic on your headlights.
Does Meguiars Ultimate Compound remove swirls?
Our ‘go to’ product for swirl removal is Ultimate Compound, this will safely remove swirls and imperfections. This can be applied by hand or with the MT320 Dual Action Machine Polisher and a cutting pad (DFC5).
